Let’s get real. It’s not always rainbows and butterflies.

It’s easy to talk about the good, but not everyone will talk about the days that are hard to handle....

••

Some days are a struggle — a really, really big struggle. I started in an industry I knew nothing about three years ago and want to be somewhere I haven’t reached yet.

But instead of feeling sorry for myself, or telling myself I’m not going to make it, I take a different perspective— even if it takes me a day or two to do so. And that’s why I think it’s SO important to reflect on where you began.

I know I’ve said it before, but if you don’t look at where you came from, you’ll never realize how far you’ve made it. I also think God knew I needed time to discover why I was on the path that I am.

I naively thought I could just start a business and that old saying would just magically happen:: “If you build it, they will come”. And any of you that own a business/side gig/etc are literally laughing right now because you know how ridiculous that actually is. I needed time and to be humbled enough to be shown it first hand.

So on the days that I struggle, I look back on improvements that I can easily see, like my photos then and my photos now (I’ll let you scroll back on those puppies yourself😬🤦🏻‍♀️) but more importantly I remind myself how I have grown and changed as a person, because I needed that more than I ever realized.

Just remember, whether you are struggling with your career, your spouse or kiddos, or just life in general, to stop and take a minute to look back. Give yourself credit for how far you’ve come, and how much further you are able to go.

Your opportunities and dreams are limitless, you’ve just got to keep working for them — and choose to smile because God gave you another day to chase them. 💕

You got this girl.
